Grind Size Guide — the right grind for every method

Grind size is the single biggest lever for good coffee. Too fine turns bitter, too coarse turns watery. This overview helps.
What you need
- A good burr grinder
- Fresh beans
- Your brew method
Steps
- Espresso. Fine — like fine sand. 25–30 s shot time.
- Filter / V60. Medium — like table salt.
- French press. Coarse — like coarse sea salt.
- Adjust. Too bitter? Grind coarser. Too sour/watery? Grind finer.
